What is Biotechnology

Biotechnology, at a basic level, uses living organisms to create products and processes that help people and the planet. The medical field has benefitted greatly from innovations in biotechnology which has led to advances in cancer therapies, vaccines, genetic testing, pharmaceuticals, and more. Outside of medicine, biotechnology touches millions of people globally by helping farmers grow more food locally, use sustainable practices that reduce air pollution, and improve food quality.
