THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION CENTER AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY

The Training and Education Center at Montgomery County is an 8,200-square-foot facility located in the heart of Maryland’s Life Sciences Corridor. This dedicated center reflects our commitment to developing a strong, skilled biopharma manufacturing workforce across the state.

The facility includes two mock GMP labs with industry-standard equipment, a gowning room for cleanroom protocol training, an instructional lecture space, and office areas to support collaboration. Our curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including biopharmaceutical manufacturing, advanced therapies, and quality control, all designed in alignment with real industry needs.

We offer flexibility in scheduling, content delivery, and program duration to meet the specific workforce requirements of each company. The BioHub Maryland Training and Education Center at Montgomery County provides hands-on technical training to current life sciences workers, military Veterans and Marylanders who may not have college degrees in a multifunctional facility designed to simulate a real-world biopharma manufacturing setting.

Had an amazing experience at Maryland Tech Council's "Introduction to Biopharma Manufacturing" at BioHub Maryland where we learned about biologics and the technology modernizing pharmaceutical manufacturing. We discussed the rigorous regulations, how single- use technology is impacting manufacturing agility and flexibility, and how AI and Big Data optimize production. The best part was suiting up in cleanroom jackets and gloves - we even tested some of the manufacturing equipment ourselves!

A great overview of Biopharma and bioprocessing. The slides were clear, the instruction was well-paced, smooth, and with a good flow. The lab tour following the lecture was a nice way to combine practical with theory. I would highly recommend it to people who are new to this or work in different departments within a company doing biomanufacturing to take this course.
