Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule using payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
  • Reconcile accounts related to payroll, benefits administration, and general ledger entries to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage data entry tasks including employee information updates, time tracking, and benefits enrollment within HRIS systems.
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll expenses, tax filings, and other financial transactions following double entry bookkeeping principles.
  • Collaborate with human resources to administer employee benefits, including leave management and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct account reconciliation activities for accounts payable, receivable, and tax-related accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports related to payroll taxes and statutory deductions.

Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll management with familiarity in software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex data entry tasks with high accuracy using accounting software like QuickBooks or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration processes and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Prior experience working within human resources or in a corporate accounting environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll taxes and experience preparing related reports will set you apart. Pay: $28.32 – $34.11 per hour
