Position Summary

VaLogic Bio is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support the deployment, installation, calibration, and validation of our LogiPoint® SaaS platform. This role combines hands-on instrumentation and controls expertise with customer-facing implementation and compliance support in regulated life sciences environments.

The successful candidate will work directly with customer facilities and internal teams to ensure LogiPoint systems are installed correctly, perform as designed, and meet applicable regulatory and validation requirements. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to work independently in field environments.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation & Commissioning

  • Install LogiPoint hardware and instrumentation at customer sites, including sensors, data acquisition devices, and related controls infrastructure
  • Configure system components to align with site-specific requirements and operating environments
  • Perform system commissioning activities to verify functionality and performance
  • Familiarity with 4-20 mA sensors and circuits
  • Work with development team on configuration of LogiPoint Systems

Calibration & Maintenance

  • Perform calibration of instruments and sensors in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards

  • Document calibration activities and ensure traceability to applicable standards

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues both onsite and remotely

  • Validation & Compliance Support

  • Execute and support IQ/OQ/PQ activities for LogiPoint deployments

  • Generate, review, and maintain validation documentation in compliance with GxP, FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements

  • Support customer audits, inspections, and technical inquiries related to system performance and validation

Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, engineering, product, and quality teams
  • Provide technical training and guidance to customers on system operation and best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of implementation and validation processes based on field experience

Departmental Inventory Management

  • Researching and ordering equipment as needed
  • Maintain inventory of common sensors and equipment

Travel & Field Support

  • Travel locally and nationally to customer sites for installations, calibrations, validations, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain readiness for short-notice travel and work in active manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Approximately 3 years of experience working with instrumentation, controls systems, or industrial automation
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with system installation, calibration, and validation
  • Working knowledge of regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing
  • Familiarity with GxP principles, validation methodologies, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in customer-facing field roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SaaS-enabled hardware or monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring, data integrity, or compliance platforms
  • Experience with PLCs, sensors, transmitters, and data acquisition systems
  • Prior experience supporting FDA-regulated facilities
  • Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally, including overnight travel (estimated 30–50%)
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environments
  • Ability to lift, install, and handle equipment as required, with reasonable accommodation
