Position Description
We are seeking an
Associate Director of Regional Marketing, Life Sciences (Molecular Tools and Oncology)
, based in
Germantown (GTN), Maryland or remote
, to play a
pivotal role in driving growth and demand for the Life Sciences portfolio
, with a strategic focus on dPCR and Cancer Research.

This role is ideal for a passionate marketer with a strong foundation in marketing to life sciences and translational laboratories through North America. You will lead strategic marketing execution across the North American region, driving adoption and utilization of QIAGEN MTO products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support achievement of overall revenue and marketing goals

  • Have a clear understanding of the regional commercial objectives and must wins.

  • Identify ways that marketing can measurably help achieve and exceed regional commercial objectives.

  • During budget and marketing planning, provide historical baseline data to show how marketing can attribute revenue or impact to achieve budget targets.

  • Develop and Execute Annual Regional Marketing Strategies:

  • Develop the annual regional marketing strategy for key products and segment marketing for both dPCR/PCR and Life Sciences segments.

  • Execute Strategic and Impactful Regional Marketing Activities:

  • Help set regional commercial objectives and strategies with commercial leadership team

  • Develop and execute marketing activities to achieve commercial objectives

  • Clearly demonstrate marketing impact through implementing measurable demand generation and commercial enablement activities.

  • Use market data, intelligence, funding intelligence and databases to develop informed, data-driven marketing activities to achieve regional commercial targets.

  • Measure, Report and Optimize Marketing Activities:

  • Set KPIs – focusing on revenue generating, and/or mid to bottom of funnel activities.

  • Measure and analyze performance of regional marketing activities.

  • Identify measures to optimize marketing performance and execute fixes.

  • Own your results – report out at MBRs, QBRs – manage dashboards and feed into Bowlers. focus on measurable results.

  • Partner with and Support the NA CommOps Organization:

  • Partner closely with the NA CommOps / sales teams and leadership to develop marketing activities with agility in response to market dynamics, competitive changes, and opportunities.

  • Be the voice of the region to global colleagues and within QIAGEN:

  • Provide feedback to global marketing and product teams on NA regional market dynamics, funding changes, macroeconomic, microeconomic, etc

  • Ensure the voice and needs of the North America customer is incorporated into annal planning.

  • Work with Global to Feedback on Campaigns

  • Provide feedback on marketing performance, market dynamics, and commercial activities/issues to the global team.

  • Provide commercial and marketing performance feedback to global colleagues.

  • Seek help, collaboration and support from global marketing where needed.

Additional Desired Qualities

  • Develop, communicate and execute regional marketing plans, in close cooperation with responsible stakeholders
  • Actively participate in preparation of launches for new products to be introduced into the market; drive success of products introduction in the field
  • Ensure budget compliance and measures return of investments of marketing activities

Position Requirements

  • Background in infectious disease, public health or immune response diagnostics, with extensive experience marketing to clinical laboratories and healthcare professionals.
  • 5–8 years of experience in life sciences marketing roles, preferably within molecular platforms and products.
  • Experience with Agile marketing processes ideal but not required. Experience with sales platforms such as Seismic ideal but not required.
  • Strategic, cross-functional collaborator with a track record of successful product launches and commercial impact.
  • Excellent presentation skills and training experience, with a proven ability to educate and engage diverse audiences both virtually and in-person.
  • Experience recruiting and working with Key Opinion Leaders to produce educational content and product presentations.
